Leaves are medium green, divided into oval leaflets 2 to 3 inches long. Outward-facing flowers 2.5 to 3 inches across have four to six pointed, slightly twisted sepals in indigo blue, with a darker purple-blue stripe down the middle of each sepal, lighter blue edges and a cluster of pale cream stamens in the center.
