It grows into a low, wide mound that keeps its shape all season without flopping open in the center.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt stays about a foot tall and spreads close to three feet wide, but it does not run underground like some artemisias. Use it as a filler in sunny beds, an edging, a groundcover or a spiller in containers. It loves heat, drought and poor soil, and deer and rabbits leave it alone. It was named best of its species in university trials.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWhat it looks like\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eBroadly dissected, deeply lobed leaves 2 to 4 inches long covered in fine hairs that give them a bright, soft silver-white color. The leaves are densely layered into a low, wide, dome-shaped mound that stays tight and full. In late summer, thin stalks may rise with small buff yellow flowers, but the plant is grown for its foliage. The mound is 12 to 16 inches tall and 32 to 36 inches wide.
