Lavender must be grown in full sun to produce flowers, so it thrives in hot, dry areas where other plants struggle. Lavender grows best in well-draining, poor, gravelly soil, and enriching the soil during planting should be avoided. Sharp drainage, especially in winter, is essential for preventing crown rot. Other than that, lavender is known to have few problems with pests and diseases. Shearing back the evergreen foliage in early spring will rejuvenate plants and stimulate new growth.

For outdoor growing, the ideal time to plant lavender is in the spring, after the last frost date in your area. This variety is a hardy plant that can tolerate some cold weather, but it’s best to avoid planting it during the winter months. Provide full sun, well-draining soil, and moderate watering for optimal growth.

When growing lavender indoors, make sure to place your plant in a location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight every day. You can also supplement the natural light with grow lights to ensure your plant gets enough light to thrive. Lavender requires well-draining soil and moderate watering, so allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering again. Avoid overwatering, as lavender does not like to sit in soggy soil. You can also fertilize your lavender plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season.

With proper care, you can enjoy the beauty and fragrance of  lavender both indoors and outdoors. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a novice plant enthusiast, our variable-sized plants from plugs to larger sizes are perfect for any level of experience. What to Do When Your Lavender Plant Arrives At Your Doorstep

When your lavender plant arrives at your doorstep, Make sure to remove the kraft paper from the pot. If you water your plant with kraft paper still on it then it could cause your plant to get moldy and have root rot. After removing the kraft paper, it’s important to allow it to rest for 24 hours in its new environment before watering it. This will give the plant a chance to recover from any stress it may have experienced during shipping. Once you’re ready to water, give the plant a good soak and then allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering again. Remember, overwatering is the most common mistake people make when growing lavender, so be careful not to water too often!

Grow Instructions: Get Your Hands Dirty and Grow Lavender

Get your hands dirty! Fill a pot or garden bed with well-draining soil and make a hole big enough to fit your lavender plant.
Give your lavender a good home! Gently place your plant in the hole and cover the roots with soil. Pat the soil down to make sure your plant is secure.
Show your lavender some love! Lavender likes lots of sunshine, so make sure to place it in a spot that gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. Give it a drink of water when the soil is dry to the touch.
Let your lavender do its thing! Lavender is a low-maintenance plant that doesn’t need a lot of water. Just sit back and watch it grow, and enjoy the beautiful purple-blue flowers and sweet fragrance.
Don’t forget to give your lavender a trim! In the spring, give your lavender a light trim to promote new growth and keep it looking neat and tidy.
Enjoy the benefits of lavender! Use your lavender flowers to make potpourri, sachets, or lavender-infused oil. Or, just sit back and enjoy the calming fragrance of your lavender plant.
Remember, growing lavender is easy and fun! Just give it some sunshine, water, and love, and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful and fragrant plant.

Important: Watering Frequency

Plug: Water once or twice a week, depending on the size of the plug and the moisture level of the soil. Allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering again.
Small pot (3-inch or 4-inch): Water once a week or when the soil feels dry to the touch. Be careful not to overwater, as lavender does not like to sit in soggy soil.
Medium pot (6-inch to 8-inch): Water every 10 to 14 days, or when the soil feels dry. Again, avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot and other problems.
Large pot or garden bed: Water deeply once a week or when the soil feels dry. Lavender prefers to be slightly on the dry side, so make sure the soil has good drainage to prevent water from pooling around the roots.
