Live plants move when the weather is kind to them. Destination and weather eligibility are confirmed before any plant order is released.
March – May
Spring shipping
Plant shipping opens March 1. The bare-root shipping window is March 1 – May 31.
June – September 30
Summer pickup
Live plants are local pickup only because of summer heat and Japanese beetle quarantine rules. Pickup is Wednesday and Friday, 10 AM–3 PM Eastern, by arrangement.
October – November
Fall shipping
Plant shipping reopens for the fall season.
December – February
Winter: request, unprotected
You can request a winter ship date, but winter shipments aren’t covered by Healthy Arrival, Shipping Protection or the Grow Guarantee. Most growers reserve now for spring.
Packing rules
How your order is boxed
Box counts drive shipping cost. Shipping is usually around $25 per box — an estimate. Checkout calculates the real rate.
- Plants ship UPS only: UPS Ground or UPS 2nd Day Air, chosen at checkout.
- Shipped wholesale plant orders include a $5 handling charge per tray or 25-plant bare-root box. No handling charge for pickup.
- No PO Boxes for plants. Use a street address.
- USPS is used only for regular merchandise.
- Live plants in soil cannot ship to AZ, CA, HI, ID, NV, OR, UT or WA — local pickup only. Bare root is soil-free and can ship there.

Shipping questions
How far ahead should I order?
The farm recommends reserving about 6 months ahead. You may still request an earlier date; the farm confirms what it can do.
Can I get plants shipped in July?
No. From June through September 30, live plants are local pickup only because of summer heat and Japanese beetle quarantine rules. Choose a spring, fall or winter date to ship, or plan a pickup.
I am in AZ, CA, HI, ID, NV, OR, UT or WA. What are my options?
Plants in soil cannot ship to those states, so they are local pickup only. Bare-root plants are soil-free and can ship to you during the bare-root window, March 1 – May 31. Checkout confirms other destination restrictions.
When do I pay?
If your requested date is within 30 days, pay in full. If it is 31 or more days out, pay a 50% deposit now and the balance due 2 weeks before your date.
Is the shipping estimate exact?
No. It uses the farm's usual figure of around $25 per box. Checkout calculates the real rate for UPS Ground or UPS 2nd Day Air.
