Our Return Promise
Thank you for buying from Great Lakes Lavender Farm. If something isn’t right, this policy explains the next step. It depends on whether your order includes regular merchandise, a live plant, shipping damage or an optional protection program.
Orders are typically processed within 2–5 business days. Live plants may take longer because of weather, plant readiness and safe shipping practices.
Non-living merchandise
Standard Returns30 days
Eligible non-living merchandise may be returned within 30 days of the delivery date.
Unless an item arrived defective, damaged or incorrect, it should be unused, unaltered and resalable, with its original packaging, tags and parts when reasonably possible.
- Returned within 30 days
- Unused and undamaged
- Proof of purchase
- Original parts included
- Packed with care
- Return approved first
Please ask before you ship
Start your return in the Returns & Claims Center or contact us before mailing anything, so we can confirm it’s eligible and route it correctly.
Items That Can’t Be Returned
- Live plants and other perishable horticultural goods after delivery — except through a plant claim or protection program.
- Fresh or dried lavender and other perishable botanicals that can’t reasonably be resold.
- Custom-label, personalized or otherwise customized items once they’re made. If we can’t print your design, we refund you in full, and a proof you don’t approve within 15 days is cancelled and refunded.
- Opened or tampered products where safety, hygiene or resale is affected.
- Used, processed, planted or improperly stored goods.
- Incomplete returns missing parts or items that came with the purchase.
This doesn’t remove remedies for defective, incorrect or qualifying damaged goods.
Living products
Live Plant ConcernsSpecial rules
Live plants are living, perishable products, so they aren’t handled through the 30-day merchandise return process. Once delivered, please don’t ship a plant back unless we give you written instructions.
Report qualifying Healthy Arrival concerns within 24 hours of the carrier’s recorded delivery time.
- Plant arrives dead
- Significant shipping injury
- Severely compromised roots
- Incorrect plant received
- Missing plants
- Damage affecting viability
Normal transit stress
Wilting, some yellowing, broken foliage, soil movement or dormancy don’t necessarily mean a plant has failed. If a plant arrives alive but stressed, we may place it in complimentary 30-Day Recovery Protection with care instructions.
After the 24-hour window
The Healthy Arrival window is 24 hours. Other programs — Shipping Protection and the optional 1-Year Grow Guarantee — may still cover you afterward when they apply to your order.
Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your delivery promptly. If something is missing, wrong or damaged, send a request as soon as possible with your order information and photos.
For shipping damage, photograph the box, packing materials, label and affected items before discarding anything.
If you purchased Shipping Protection, qualifying loss, theft, transit damage, severe delay, misrouting or transit temperature injury may be covered. Transit problems go under Shipping Protection; plant performance after delivery goes under the applicable plant protection program.
Return Shipping
For returns because of preference or an ordering mistake, the customer pays return shipping. Please use a trackable service and keep the tracking number.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the refund is because of our error.

Restocking Fees
We don’t charge a restocking fee on eligible merchandise returns accepted under this policy.
Refund Processing
Once we receive and inspect an eligible return, we’ll confirm whether it meets the return conditions. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, and we’ll email you when it’s processed. Your bank or card issuer may need extra time to post it.
Plant claims work differently
An approved plant claim may be resolved with a replacement, store credit, Recovery Protection or another remedy rather than a cash refund, depending on the program covering that plant.
Orders we can’t fulfill
Live plants depend on the growing season. If we can’t propagate or fulfill all or part of an order or pre-order, we’ll let you know and refund everything you paid for the items we can’t send, deposits included.
Plant deposits
Retail plant orders are paid in full. Wholesale orders dated 31+ days out can reserve with a 50% deposit, which holds greenhouse space and plants for you, so it’s non-refundable if you cancel. If you paid in full and cancel before fulfillment, we keep 50% of the plant price and refund the rest. See the Cancellation Policy.
Wholesale orders
Wholesale pricing is for businesses. We review wholesale orders, and if a buyer doesn’t qualify, we may cancel the order and refund the payment.

Limits of Plant Remedies
Live plants are affected by climate, soil, drainage, watering, planting method, weather, pests and handling after delivery — things outside our direct control. Remedies for plant failure are set by the Healthy Arrival Guarantee, Recovery Protection, Shipping Protection, the 1-Year Grow Guarantee or other written terms for the order.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability under these programs is limited to the eligible value of the affected product or the remedy the program provides. We aren’t responsible under these programs for indirect or consequential losses such as lost crop revenue, profits, harvest, installation or removal costs, facility contamination or business interruption. Nothing here limits rights that can’t lawfully be excluded.
