Overview
The hive yard shows up to ten of your active colonies. Real honey bees fly from flower to flower around them. Each hive's card shows its strength and its mite count per 100 bees.
At a hive
- 🔎 Inspect: the queen, brood and stores are recorded.
- 🧪 Check for mites: sample the colony for varroa mites.
- 🍯 Add honey super, when the hive is ready for one.
- 🍯 Extract honey, when there's capped honey.
- 📋 Apiary page for everything else.
- No colony yet? Ask “How do I start a hive?” to learn what's needed.
Tips
- Scan a hive with the 🔍 Scan tool for a quick stat card. Treat mites above about 3%.
- Next to the hives you'll find hive gear like a screened bottom board, a mite tray and a feeder.
