Miles

Distance is measured from your farm's location to the farm's, along a straight line, then increased by a fifth to allow for real roads. The shortest trip is 8 miles.

Cost

Fuel factor for road trips

The road-trip price follows your vehicle's thirst. The per-mile part is multiplied by 18 divided by the vehicle's miles a gallon (between 0.4 and 3 times). A vehicle that gets 36 miles a gallon pays half as much per mile as the farm truck; one that gets 9 pays twice as much. Vehicles with no fuel pay the farm truck's rate.

Travel time

• The trip card shows a real-world travel time: about 50 miles an hour by road (adjusted for your vehicle's speed), or 1 hour plus an hour for every 420 miles by air.
• On screen, a flight lasts 14 to 40 seconds, and a drive at least twice as long as the same flight (up to 2 minutes), with more road and more billboards. The trip home is a little shorter.
• There's no skipping ahead on the way.

On the way

• A 3D road or a small purple farm plane flying a dotted route over a world map, with travel tips along the way.
• 🧠 Trivia: three lavender questions on the way out. Each right answer is +10 XP.
• If you walk as Sierra or Andrew, the other one travels with you.
• The quad stays home; the truck or plane makes the trip.

Crew morale

Every trip raises crew morale by 12% (up to 100%). Morale boosts what you earn on visits: rewards are multiplied by 1 plus half your morale (so at 50% morale, 1.25 times; at 100%, 1.5 times). In bloom season (summer) visit XP is doubled. Souvenirs, seasonal events, lunch in town and supper at the Farmhouse raise morale too.

Good to know

Visits started somewhere else in the game, such as from a farm's listing, still show the drive there: by road under 300 miles, by air from 300 miles.
