Why this pairing works
Apple and sharp cheddar is a classic pairing, and a snip of green apple honey over the cheese makes it sing. Mixing sweet bakes with savory bites keeps people nibbling.
Serves 6 to 8 Prep 20 min Cook 0 min
Ingredients
- 4 Lavender Scone (Apple), halved
- 1 Lavender Small Pie (Apple), cut into wedges
- 8 Lavender Honey Sticks (Green Apple)
- 4 Lavender Drink Bombs (Spiced Apple Cider)
- 4 cups apple cider, hot, in a thermos
- 8 oz sharp white cheddar, sliced
- 3 apples, mixed varieties, sliced just before serving
- 1 cup candied or toasted pecans
- 1 sleeve crackers
Directions
- Place the pie and a small stack of scones on the board first. They are your anchors.
- Fan the cheddar and apple slices around them, then fill the gaps with pecans and crackers.
- Snip a couple of honey sticks and drizzle them over the cheddar. Stand the rest in a small cup.
- Pour hot cider into mugs, then drop in a drink bomb and stir as it opens.
Toss the apple slices in a little lemon juice or lemon-lime soda so they don't brown while the board sits out. Honey isn't safe for babies under 1 year old.
Serve it with: Lavender Ground Coffee (Pumpkin Spice)
Make it your own
- Add a wedge of brie and a spoonful of Lavender Wildflower Honey.
- Swap the cider for a thermos of Pumpkin Spice Lavender coffee.
