Spiderweb Lavender Sugar Cookie Bars
On this page
No rolling, no cutters, no chilling. Press our Sugar Cookie mix into a pan, frost it with pale orange lavender cream cheese frosting and drag a toothpick through melted chocolate to make a spiderweb. It looks like a lot of work. It isn't.

Why this pairing works
Cookie bars are soft and chewy in the middle, and a tangy cream cheese frosting keeps them from tasting too sweet. A drop of lavender extract in the frosting matches the cookie.
Makes 24 bars Prep 25 min Cook 20 min
Ingredients
- 1 bag Lavender Cookie Mix (Sugar Cookie), plus the ingredients listed on the package
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 Tbsp butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/8 tsp Lavender Extract
- 1 drop orange gel food coloring
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips, melted
- 1 Tbsp Lavender Sugar, optional, for sparkle
Directions
- Prepare the dough according to the package directions. Press it evenly into a parchment-lined 9x13 pan.
- Bake at the temperature on the package, starting to check at 15 minutes. The bars are done when the edges are light golden and the center looks set. Cool completely.
- Beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, lavender extract and food coloring until fluffy. Spread over the bars.
- Spoon the melted chocolate into a zip-top bag, snip a tiny corner and pipe a spiral from the center out.
- Drag a toothpick from the center to the edge 8 times, like spokes on a wheel, to make the web. Sprinkle with Lavender Sugar and cut into bars.
Chill the frosted bars for 20 minutes before piping. The chocolate lines stay sharp on a cold surface instead of sinking in.
