Lavender Cherry Bar Soap: A Bright Taste of Michigan at the Sink
Save
On this page
Michigan is famous for its cherries, and it would have felt wrong not to pair them with lavender. The Lavender Cherry Bar Soap has a sweet, bright cherry scent softened by lavender. It is fruity and cheerful without being sugary, and it works up a rich lather with warm water.
Quick answer: A 5 oz bar for hands and body. Lather with warm water, rinse, and keep it on a draining soap dish between uses so it lasts longer.
The scent
Picture a bowl of cherries on a summer counter, then add a soft floral note. Cherry is the star; lavender keeps it from turning into cherry candy. It is a good pick for anyone who loves fruity scents but finds most of them too sweet.
A soap that travels well as a gift
Bar soap is light, sturdy and easy to tuck into a card or care package, which makes it one of our favorite ways to send a little Michigan to people who have moved away. If you have a friend in another state who still talks about cherry season, this is their bar.
| Gift idea | Pair it with |
|---|---|
| Taste of Michigan care package | Cherry lip balm and a Great Lakes lip balm set |
| Cherry-themed bathroom | Cherry foaming hand soap and room spray |
| Stocking stuffer | On its own, tied with ribbon |
Making it last
- Let it drain. A slatted or draining dish keeps the bottom from turning soft.
- Stay out of the spray. Set it on a high shelf in the shower, not in the stream.
- Rotate bars. If you use bar soap at several sinks, swapping bars gives each one time to dry.
- Store spares dry. Unopened bars keep well in a drawer or linen closet.
Build the cherry set
Cherry also comes as a foaming hand soap, body butter and lip balm, so you can match the whole bathroom. Put a set together in the Gift Box Builder.
