Some products live in the bathroom. The Lavender Fields Shea Butter lives on our kitchen windowsill, right where we wash up after a day in the fields. It is rich and creamy, a little goes a long way, and it carries our signature Fields scent: pure, simple lavender that smells like the farm in full bloom.
Quick answer: Warm a small amount between your fingers and massage it into skin. It is great for hands, cuticles, elbows and heels, and the 4 oz jar tucks easily into a purse, tote or work bag.
Shea butter, body butter or lotion?
| Product | Feel | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Fields Shea Butter (this one) | Rich and creamy, small jar | Targeted dry spots, hands and cuticles |
| Body butter | Thick and rich, larger jar | All-over after-shower use |
| Hand and body lotion | Light and quick to absorb | Everyday hands and daytime use |
How to use it
- Scoop a small amount with clean, dry fingers. Smaller than you think.
- Warm it between your fingertips until it softens.
- Massage it into the spots that need it most: knuckles, cuticles, elbows and heels.
- Spread any extra over the backs of your hands.
For hard-working heels, apply it at bedtime and pull on a pair of cotton socks.
All year long
In winter, it is the jar we grab for chapped, wind-dry hands after shoveling or chores. In summer, it comes out after long days outdoors when skin feels sun-kissed and a little dry. Pure lavender suits both seasons, which is why this is the scent we reach for all year.
Storage tips
Shea butter softens in warm rooms and firms up in cold ones; both are normal. Keep the lid closed, store it away from heat and direct sun, and use dry fingers so water does not get into the jar. If it gets very firm in winter, a few seconds of warming in your palm brings it back.
A gift for working hands
Gardeners, nurses, mechanics, bakers and teachers all know what dry hands feel like. Pair the shea butter with Lavender Cuticle Oil or a Fields lotion for a hand-care set in the Gift Box Builder.
Frequently asked questions
Will it leave my hands greasy?
A small amount, warmed and worked in well, settles into skin. Most greasy feelings come from using too much.
Can I use it on my feet?
Yes. Heels are one of its best uses. Just be careful walking on smooth floors right after applying.
