Lavender Fields Vehicle Wash: Bucket, Mitt and a Little Lavender Save

Your car works hard. Give it a bath that smells like a summer drive past a lavender field. Lavender Fields Vehicle Wash is scented with our signature Fields blend, a pure, classic lavender, and it turns wash day on the driveway into something a bit more enjoyable. Even the farm truck gets a little lavender.

A driveway wash, step by step

  1. Park in the shade, or wash early or late in the day. Sun dries soap on the paint before you can rinse it.
  2. Rinse the whole car first to knock off loose grit.
  3. Dilute the wash in a bucket of water, following the label.
  4. Wash top down with a mitt or sponge: roof, windows, hood and trunk, then the sides, then the lowest panels last.
  5. Rinse often, one section at a time, so nothing dries on.
  6. Dry with a soft towel or microfiber to avoid water spots.

The two-bucket trick

Keep one bucket of soapy water and a second bucket of plain water. Dip the mitt in the soap, wash a section, then rinse the mitt in the plain water before going back for more soap. The grit ends up in the rinse bucket instead of being rubbed back into your paint.

Through the Michigan seasons

Season What you are washing off
Late winter and spring Road salt, slush film and spring mud; give the lower panels extra rinsing
Summer Dust, bugs and pollen after trips to the lakeshore
Fall Leaves, sap and the first gravel-road grime of hunting season

On a mild winter day, a wash that focuses on the lower body and wheel wells helps get road salt off sooner.

Storing it

Keep the bottle capped on a garage shelf, out of reach of children and pets, and protect it from freezing in an unheated garage.

The Fields car-care lineup

After the wash, our Lavender Fields Vehicle Glass Cleaner handles the windows and the Vehicle Interior Cleaner takes care of the inside, all in the same Fields scent. For new drivers or the person who loves a shiny truck, put a set together in the Gift Box Builder.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it in direct sun?

It is best to wash out of direct sun so the wash rinses clean and does not spot.

Can I use dish soap on my car instead?

Dish soap is made for dishes. A vehicle wash is made for the job, so use this on the car and keep the dish soap at the sink.
