Who we are

Farm Day Trips is the free farm-visit directory of Great Lakes Lavender Farm, a family lavender farm in Rockford, Michigan. We started it to help people find lavender farms to visit, and the orchards, farm stands, cafés, bakeries and inns that make a good day out around them.

Every listing is also a place in our Lavender Farm Simulator, and every visit can earn a stamp in the free Lavender Passport.

What we list

Lavender farms that grow lavender and welcome visitors or sell what they grow, plus independent local businesses within about 25 miles of them: farms open to visitors, farm stands and markets, cafés, bakeries, ice cream shops, inns, B&Bs, farm stays, campgrounds and gift shops.

We leave out chains and franchises, plant nurseries and garden centers, and places with no sign of being open recently. Wineries, cideries, breweries and distilleries are listed too and marked 21+.

How we check the facts

Each page is researched from the business's own website and social pages, official park, tourism and government websites, and local news. Hours, seasons, prices and pet rules are only included when the business publishes them, with the year when it's given.

We use software, including AI tools, to help gather, organize and write up this research. Every page is built only from the sources we found for that place, and each page says the month it was last checked.

We don't copy ratings or reviews from other websites. Star ratings on a listing come only from visitors who review it here.

Keeping it current

Pages are checked again at least once a year and whenever an owner or visitor tells us something changed. Owners can claim their listing for free to correct facts, add photos and events, and answer questions. Anyone can suggest an edit or report a closed business from the listing.

Seasons and hours change, especially for farms, so please check with the business before a long drive.

Sponsors

Some farms and businesses pay to be Featured sponsors. Featured listings are always labeled, and paying never changes the facts on a page or how we describe a place.

🪪 Collect a stamp at every stop

The free Lavender Passport keeps a stamp for each farm and stop you visit, in real life and in the Lavender Farm Simulator. At the farm, play Field Quest to collect plant varieties as you walk, climb the leaderboards and unlock sponsor rewards.
