About Agricenter International
Agricenter International is a not-for-profit research and education farm of about 1,000 acres in the middle of Memphis, with 600 acres set aside for agricultural research. It calls itself the world's largest urban farm and has served Shelby County for four decades, hosting school groups, shows and community events alongside its working fields.
For visitors, the main draw is the Farmers Market, which has worked with local farmers and ranchers since 1986 and is open Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in its summer season, selling local produce and other farm-raised goods. Winter market days in 2026 fall on November 14 and 21 and December 12 and 19. Fall brings a run of events: the 2026 Harvest Festival on October 24, a Halloween market on October 31 and the Christmas Craft Show on December 5.
The Agricenter Sunflower Trail, opened in 2017, links the campus with Shelby Farms Park and connects toward the Wolf River trails, so walkers and cyclists can ride in to the market. The RV park, within walking distance of the market, has full hookups with 30- and 50-amp service, a dump station, showers and laundry. Rates posted in October 2026 were $48 a night plus tax ($45 for seniors and military), with weekly and monthly rates, and leashed pets are allowed. The campus also has Catch 'Em Lakes, the Mid-South Raptor Center and the ShowPlace Arena.
The Lavender Farm at Belle Woods in Arlington is about 21 miles to the northeast. Shopping the market in the morning and then driving out to Arlington makes an easy half day on the east side of Memphis.
