About Lavanda en Flor (Aromáticas El Romeral)

Lavanda en Flor is a family business in El Romeral, a village in Toledo province less than 80 km from central Madrid. The project began after Manuel Escudero and Teo Rojo visited Provence and saw what lavender could mean for families in their home village. After months of trials they settled on lavandin (Lavandula x intermedia), which suits the Toledo plains, and they grow it ecologically.

The lavender blooms in June and July, and the farm announces each year which days look best. The guided visit lasts about 90 minutes, starts at the Mujer Pleitera sculpture in the village, and takes in the fields, the mill and the farm's interpretation center in a former farmhouse. A hat and a bottle of water are included and the guide speaks Spanish. Prices listed on their website: adults 22 €, children 4–12 10 €, under 4 free.

Beyond the standard visit, the farm lists breakfasts among the lavender, stargazing in the fields, sunset concerts and dinners, professional photo sessions booked by the hour, and school workshops. The shop sells lavender honey from the farm's own bees, dried flowers, sachets, essential oils and cosmetics.

Many fields have no fences, so stay on the marked paths and leave the plants unpicked.
