What the traits do
- Winter helps strength in cold weeks; Spring buildup helps strength and brood in warm weeks.
- Varroa resistance slows mite growth.
- Docility sets temperament, together with queen quality, stores, weather and quarantine (shown as very docile, calm, variable, alert or defensive).
- Ratings are 1–5 relative game tendencies. Real colonies vary with breeder line, queen and care.
Notes from the game
- Italian: fast buildup and strong production; stores and mites need active management.
- Carniolan: efficient wintering and rapid spring expansion; crowded colonies may prepare to swarm.
- Russian: strong winter and mite-resistance traits.
- Caucasian: often calm with slower spring buildup.
- Buckfast: a selected composite stock; traits depend on breeder line.
