Overview
Coneflowers (Echinacea) and black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia) are sunny daisies that start flowering in June or July. They take sun or part shade, and nearly all of them are rated "Deer leave it alone".
The catalog's advice for growing them with lavender: "American Gold Rush likes the same sunny, well-drained ground as lavender, and its golden daisies open as the lavender harvest ends, giving a bold yellow contrast to the gray-green lavender foliage."

Tips
- Most of these belong in the ☀️ sun border, next to the lavender. In the shade garden a plant that also takes part shade tops out at 88% health, and a sun-only plant loses 7 health a week and will not flower.
- Most are deer resistant, so they are a safe choice before you can afford a deer fence.
- Deadhead repeat and long bloomers while they are in flower for more bloom weeks and more bouquet stems.
