How to race

1. You draw a post position (1 is right on the rail). Tap 🏁 Load into the gate.
2. Break well: hold the button as the gate opens.
3. Hold to urge your horse on (the big button, Space or ↑, or RT on a controller). Urging burns stamina. When the bar runs out, your horse tires.
4. Let go to cruise and let your horse catch its wind. Most riders save it for the home stretch.
5. ◀ moves you toward the rail, the shortest way round. ▶ swings you out to pass. You can't move over if a horse is alongside.
6. Tuck in right behind a horse to draft and recover faster. If a horse is right in front of you, you are boxed in and can't pass until you swing out.

Classes and purses

How prizes are paid

• Purse: 100% for 1st, 60% for 2nd, 40% for 3rd, 12% below that, for your first 3 paid races each week.
• XP: 100% for 1st, 70% for 2nd, 50% for 3rd, 25% below that, every race.
• Blue, red and white ribbons for the top three. Your best time is saved.
• Win a class for the first time to earn a blueprint (or +150 coins) and move up to the next class.

Tips

• The five rivals each have a running style: some go to the front, some stalk the leaders, and one saves everything for a late close.
• Drafting behind a horse in the backstretch refills stamina faster for the final push.
