Overview

Hostas are the biggest plant type in the perennial catalog. Every one is hardy to zone 3, almost all of them want part shade or shade, and they flower from June to August. They are also the plants deer love most: every hosta in the game is rated "Deer love it".

The catalog's advice for growing them with lavender: "Hostas want shade and steady moisture, the opposite of lavender's hot, dry bed, so give this one a spot under trees or along the north side of the house with ferns and astilbe."
