Singular Sensation has 6-inch soft pink flowers finished with a heavily ruffled gold edge and a green throat. The wide petals give the blooms a full, luxurious look.
A high bud count on well-branched scapes and good rebloom make it one of the best repeat bloomers with flowers this large. The blooms are fragrant.
What it looks like
Large flowers about 6 inches across with wide petals in soft shell pink, heavily ruffled gold edges and a green throat. Each bloom lasts a day, but many buds open in turn on branched scapes rising to about 26 inches above a fountain of long, arching, strap-shaped medium green leaves. The foliage clump is about 16 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. At peak bloom large pink flowers with gold edges crowd the branched scapes.
Growing it with lavender
Its soft pink flowers pair gently with lavender in the same full sun and well-drained soil.
Care
Grow in full sun to light part shade (at least six hours of sun for the best bloom) in average, well-drained soil; once established it handles heat, clay and dry spells. Hardy in zones 3 to 9. Remove spent scapes promptly to encourage a later round of flowers, and divide crowded clumps every few years.
