Sunny Disposition forms a neatly rounded plant covered with ball-shaped golden yellow flowers 2 to 2½ inches wide. The blooms range from double to semi-double and appear from midsummer into late summer.
The green leaves have a light, creamy variegation along the edges, adding a bit of brightness even out of bloom. It works well in the middle of a border, in combination containers and as a cut flower.
What it looks like
Double to semi-double, rounded, ball-like flowers 2 to 2½ inches across in golden yellow, with layered petals around a small golden center. Flowers are carried in good numbers on branched stems over the foliage. Leaves are triangular and toothed, glossy green with a narrow, light cream edge. The plant is a rounded, bushy mound 24 to 28 inches tall and 26 to 28 inches wide. At peak bloom it looks like a green dome sprinkled with golden balls.
Growing it with lavender
Its round golden flowers contrast nicely with lavender's slender purple spikes in the same full sun and well-drained soil.
Care
Grow in full sun to light part shade in average, well-drained soil; established plants tolerate dry spells. Hardy in zones 3 to 9. Deadhead spent flowers to extend bloom and cut the plant back after frost.
