Why this pairing works
A cookie is softer and richer than a graham cracker, and a brownie slice melts faster than a chocolate bar. Lavender sugar on the hot marshmallow melts into a thin, crunchy candy shell.
Makes 8 s'mores Prep 10 min Cook 5 min
Ingredients
- 16 Lavender Cookie (Chocolate Chip), from the farm stand
- 4 Lavender Brownie, each sliced into 2 thin squares
- 8 large marshmallows
- 2 Tbsp Lavender Sugar, in a small bowl
- 8 roasting sticks
Directions
- Set a brownie square on 8 of the cookies and keep them close to the fire so the brownie warms.
- Toast a marshmallow over glowing embers, turning slowly, until deep golden all over, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Right away, roll the hot marshmallow in Lavender Sugar so it sticks and melts into a crackly coating.
- Slide the marshmallow onto a brownie-topped cookie, press a second cookie on top and pull out the stick.
Toast over coals, not flames. Flames char the outside before the middle gets gooey.
Make it your own
- Use Lavender Shortbread cookies for a buttery version.
- Bake a pan with Lavender Fudge Brownie Mix before the camping trip.
