Why this pairing works
Grape and cherry are deep, jammy flavors that feel like a celebration. Ginger ale adds sparkle and a little spice, and lavender smooths it all into something that tastes special.
Serves 16 to 20 Prep 15 min + overnight freezing Cook 0 min
Ingredients
- 4 cups Lavender Cherry Gourmet Drink Mix, prepared per package directions, for the ice ring
- 1 cup fresh cranberries, for the ice ring
- 8 cups Lavender Grape Gourmet Drink Mix, prepared per package directions and well chilled
- 2 liters ginger ale or sparkling water, chilled
- 2 cups red or green grapes, frozen
- 16 Lavender Cocktail Picks, for garnish
- Sparkling wine, optional, for adults 21+ to top their own cups
Directions
- The night before, scatter the cranberries in a Bundt pan or ring mold. Pour in the prepared cherry drink and freeze until solid, at least 8 hours.
- Freeze the grapes on a tray at the same time.
- Just before guests arrive, pour the chilled grape drink into a punch bowl. Slowly add the ginger ale down the side of the bowl.
- Dip the mold in warm water for 10 seconds to loosen the ice ring and float it in the punch, fruit side up.
- Thread frozen grapes onto lavender picks and set one in each cup as you ladle.
An ice ring melts much more slowly than cubes, and because it's made from cherry drink, it adds flavor instead of watering the punch down.
Make it your own
- Swap the ginger ale for lemon-lime soda for a sweeter punch.
- Freeze leftover punch in ice pop molds for New Year's Day.
