Heavy-Duty Web Trays: The Carrier Flats That Hold the Whole Bench
Save
On this page
Our Durable Heavy-Duty Web Trays, also called daisy trays, are the unglamorous backbone of any propagation bench. They carry plug trays, inserts and small pots from potting table to greenhouse to truck without bending in the middle or dumping a flat of lavender starts on the floor.
Quick answer: A web-bottom carrier tray measuring 10.75 x 21.26 x 2.4 inches, with tighter webbing at the grab points on all four sides. It fits most traditional-size inserts and works with automated equipment like flat fillers.

What a web tray is for
A web tray is a carrier, not a container for loose soil. The open web bottom lets water run straight through and lets air reach the base of whatever sits inside. That matters for lavender, which does poorly when its roots sit in standing water. Use it under:
- Plug trays: flimsy high-count trays like a 288-cell seed tray need a rigid base to move safely.
- Cell packs and inserts: standard inserts drop right in.
- Small pots: 3-inch and 4-inch pots of lavender and herbs travel together instead of tipping one by one.
Handling tips
Lift from the reinforced grab points on the ends or sides rather than from one corner. Keep loaded trays level when moving them so wet soil does not shift. If you need to bottom water, set the web tray inside a solid flat for that step, then move it back out to drain.
Cleaning and reuse
Between crops, knock off loose soil, scrub or rinse the tray and let it dry fully before stacking. Clean carriers help keep the propagation area tidy from season to season.
Pack sizes
Trays are offered in packs from a single tray up to 50. See the product page for current pack sizes and availability, and the Wholesale Hub for larger grower orders.
Frequently asked questions
Will it hold water for bottom watering?
No. The web bottom drains freely by design. Pair it with a solid tray when you want to bottom water.
Will your plug trays fit inside?
It is made to fit most traditional-size inserts. Check the dimensions of your specific tray against the measurements above.
