On this page
Mornings on the farm start early, and they start with coffee. Our Lavender Blueberry Ground Coffee brings a soft floral lavender note and a fruity blueberry twist to the cup, a little like a blueberry muffin decided to become a beverage.
Quick answer: It is pre-ground for drip makers and pour-over. Brew it the way you usually brew coffee, then enjoy it hot or iced with a splash of cream. Check the package for ingredients and allergen information.
The flavor
Blueberry is one of the fruitiest coffees in our lineup. The berry note is sweet and summery, and the lavender sits softly underneath. It is a good choice for people who like flavored coffee but want something brighter than vanilla or hazelnut.
Brewing it well
- Start with a common ratio. About 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 oz of water is a good starting point. Adjust to taste.
- Use fresh, cold water. It makes a cleaner cup than water that has been sitting in the kettle.
- Pour-over: wet the filter, add grounds, pour a little water to let them bloom for 30 seconds, then pour the rest slowly.
- Do not let it stew. Coffee left on a hot plate turns bitter and the fruit note fades. Move it to a thermal carafe instead.
Make it iced
Blueberry might be at its best over ice. Brew a little stronger than usual, let it cool, then pour over ice with a splash of cream and a spoonful of lavender sugar or a drizzle of lavender syrup. For a café-style version, try our Honey Lavender Iced Latte with Honey Cold Foam.
What to serve with it
Blueberry coffee and pancakes are a natural match. Our Maple Lavender Pancake Stack makes a full farm-style breakfast, and lemon scones or muffins balance the berry nicely.
Keeping it fresh
Ground coffee loses aroma quickly once opened. Close the bag tightly or move it to an airtight container, and keep it in a cool, dark cupboard away from the stove. Skip the fridge, where moisture and other food smells can sneak in.
Frequently asked questions
Is it sweet?
The flavor tastes fruity and sweet-leaning, but sweeten the cup to your own taste.
Can I use it in a French press?
It is ground for drip and pour-over. A French press usually prefers a coarser grind, so you may notice a little more sediment.
Is it a good gift?
Yes. Mix it with other flavors in the Gift Box Builder for a coffee lover's basket.
