About Andy's Frozen Custard

Andy's Frozen Custard began in Osage Beach in 1986 with John and Carol Kuntz. Their son Andy and his wife Dana learned the trade at the original Springfield location and grew it into a chain that still keeps its home office downtown on East Water Street. Springfield alone has seven stands; this listing covers the one at 4420 South Campbell Avenue on the city's south side.

Custard is made fresh every hour and served within an hour of being made. The signature order is a concrete, with named versions such as the Boot Daddy and the Snow Monster, and the menu also covers shakes and malts, splits and sundaes, cups and cones, and caramel apples. Fall brings seasonal flavors like the Pumpkin Pie Concrete, and in fall 2026 a medium concrete or a Jackhammer comes with a free 20-ounce collectible cup.

This is a quick-service stand with drive-thru and walk-up windows rather than a sit-down restaurant, which makes it an easy stop at the end of a long day. It opens at 11 a.m. and stays open until 11 p.m. most nights and 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can come back from the country well after dinner and still get a cone. A loyalty program through their website gives new members a free small one-topping concrete after the first visit.
