About Lavender Falls Farm

Lavender Falls Farm sits along Highway M near the James River crossing at Jamesville, southwest of Springfield. Its story starts with an injury: Thor, a Springfield police officer, was hurt in a training accident in June 2013 and told he might never work again. Instead he ordered 768 lavender plants, and family and friends helped put them in the ground. By fall 2015 the first harvest was in and his wife Catherine was selling it at the Greater Springfield Farmers Market. Festival invitations followed, Catherine went full time into growing and product making, and in June 2017 they opened the farm with a renovated barn holding a café, a store and a bar.

The farm is named for its natural waterfall, about 300 feet of falling water fed by a spring that runs year-round at a steady 59 degrees. The family lives on the property and asks guests to treat it as their home.

Visits in 2026 were by reservation. That fall the farm ran its first Fall on the Farm season, with evenings on selected dates from mid-September through late October, a fall menu, and local musicians, some of whom have played at the farm since 2017. Reservations opened August 15 and carried a $10 cover per person, refundable up to seven days ahead; parties of 15 or more call to book. The store sells lavender bundles and relaxation products made on the farm, which also go to retailers and festivals around the region.

Lambert's Cafe in Ozark is about 25 minutes east if you want a big Ozarks lunch before an evening at the falls.
