About Bassetti Vineyards
Bassetti Vineyards is a small family estate in the hills outside Cambria, on land that Pietro and Teresina Bassetti bought in the early 1900s. The family's holding once covered 633 acres. Today 13 acres are planted to vines, farmed sustainably alongside an orchard, and the first Bassetti Family Vineyards wine was bottled in 2000. Winemaker Anthony Yount has made the wines since 2007.
The focus is on Rhône grapes grown on the estate. The lineup includes a 100 percent estate Syrah, a 100 percent estate Grenache, a Syrah Reserve, a Grenache rosé and a Grenache-Syrah blend called GS. Bottles are sold at the estate during appointments and through their website.
Visits are by appointment only, so request a time through their website or by phone before you drive out on North Green Valley Road. A tasting is $20 per person in 2026, and the fee is waived when each person buys two bottles. Members of the winery's Club Pietro taste free with two guests and get pick-up parties, private tastings and wine-pairing dinners.
The nearest lavender farm, Central Coast Lavender near Paso Robles, is about 45 minutes inland over Highway 46. A good plan is lavender in the morning, then a scheduled afternoon tasting here before heading back toward the coast at Cambria.
