About Harmony Cellars
Harmony Cellars is a family-owned winery and tasting room on the hill above Harmony, the very small village on Highway 1 about five miles south of Cambria. The draw here is the setting as much as the glass: a hilltop patio with wide views over the coastal countryside, a newly finished covered pavilion, a picnic area and a small gift shop, all a short turn off the coast road between Cambria and Cayucos.
The tasting room is open year-round. Their posted fall, winter and spring hours are weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with shorter hours around holidays and closures on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas. A standard tasting lets you choose six of the current releases for $25, and that fee is refunded with a $95 wine purchase. Wine is also poured by the glass and sold by the bottle. Walk-ins are welcome; parties of 10 or more need to arrange a visit at least two weeks ahead by phone.
The patio and pavilion can be rented for private tastings, birthdays, anniversaries, company gatherings and weddings. Leashed, friendly dogs are allowed on the hilltop patio but not inside the tasting room or under the pavilion. The building is wheelchair accessible and smoke-free, and wine club members get 20% off purchases.
Central Coast Lavender is on the west side of Paso Robles, about 35 to 40 minutes inland from Harmony over Highway 46. A coast-and-country loop works well: lavender in Paso Robles in the morning, then west over the hills for a late-afternoon stop on the Harmony patio before heading up to Cambria.
