Café Oui is a family café on Errington Street in Chelmsford, opened on June 1, 2023, by Butch and Fran Ouimette in the town's restored old Chrysler building. The name plays on their last name and the French word for yes, a nod to Fran's bilingual Chelmsford roots.
The kitchen cooks steak and chicken on site every day for its subs, which come on fresh buns from Regency Bakery, and any sub can be topped with the house Oui sauce, a Caesar-style dressing. Gluten-free bagels, bread and sub buns are available. Coffee is espresso or brewed from beans roasted in Espanola, sold by the bag too, and there is ice cream for warm days. On Fridays the café brings in fresh apple fritters.
Inside there is a large board game collection free for customers, which makes it a game-night spot, and the shelves carry honey, salt, jam and other goods from local makers. The patio welcomes dogs, with tie-ups, water bowls and treats. In December families can bring kids to meet Santa.
