About Calyx Creek
Calyx Creek is a family lavender farm just outside Iowa City, near Oxford. Stephanie and Taylor and their three daughters bought the land in 2022 after a trip to a Pacific Northwest lavender farm, and extended family has pitched in ever since. It has grown into a full visitor stop: lavender fields, a shop, a café, a wedding and event venue and treehouse lodging.
Walking the fields, browsing the shop and visiting the café is free, with no tickets. In 2026 the farm is open Saturdays 10 to 4 and Sundays 1 to 5, and closed on weekdays. Classes and experiences usually run May through October. Recent offerings include Dinners and Drinks with Lavender, a Bee and Honey Experience, lavender wreath making, bouquet and tea making, and Yoga and Lavender in the field; tickets are sold through their website.
The café uses farm-grown lavender in baked goods, ice cream and drinks, including lemonade and cocktails. The shop carries farm-grown teas, lavender syrup, dried bouquets, a lavender bug spray and lavender-filled stuffed animals you can warm in the microwave, and it sometimes hosts equipment demonstrations.
For an overnight, the farm has treehouses about 30 feet above the lavender fields, open year-round. The three-story Summit and the spa-style Outlook each sleep up to 10, and guests get a private nature trail. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. The Amana Colonies are about 20 minutes north.
