About Camel Valley Lavender
Camel Valley Lavender is the lavender side of Oasis Camel Dairy, a family farm east of Ramona in San Diego County's backcountry. More than 3,000 plants were set by hand over eight acres along the south pasture line, between the camel pasture and neighboring vineyards. The farm grows several types for bouquets, cooking, ornament and essential oil, and its own lavender oil goes into the dairy's camel milk soap.
The field opens on select days during bloom, starting in June; the dairy planned weekend openings in late May, June and July of 2026. Tickets are free but booked through their website, and parking is free. Visitors pick their own lavender, browse lavender products and essential oils, and sit in on an outdoor classroom about where lavender comes from, how the types differ and what it needs to grow. At 11:00 and 2:30 the camel herd comes up to the pasture fence.
The dairy's farm store sells camel milk chocolate, lotions and soaps, plus lavender goods, drinks and snacks on bloom days. Outside lavender season the dairy offers an open farm show with camels, parrots and sheep, one-hour private group tours, an upstairs farm-stay apartment, and Camel Camp on the first weekend of May. Private photography sessions in the lavender are arranged by email. The farm calls itself both family-friendly and dog-friendly.
Julian, the old gold-mining town known for apple pie, is about 30 minutes east on Highway 78 for tea or lunch after picking.
