About Castle Finn Vineyard & Winery

Castle Finn Vineyard & Winery is a family operation that opened on August 1, 2010, in farm country on the Edgar County line, with a Marshall mailing address. Rob started it and was the first winemaker. His son Bart, who studied horticulture, now runs the vineyard and recently added a sunflower crop, and Sonya is the newest winemaker. The tasting room looks out over the vines and a pond with a fountain, and inside there is a stone fireplace for cooler months.

The tasting room keeps weekend hours all year, with Friday added from June through October. A table flight brings eight one-ounce pours of wine or of sangria, and a shorter five-sample tasting is served at the bar. If staff have time, they will walk you through the production room and explain how the wine is made, at no charge. Bottled beer and mixed drinks are also sold, and a full case of wine earns a discount.

You can bring your own food, but all drinks must be bought at the winery. Children are welcome and can order slushies or other non-alcoholic drinks. The barn hall hosts weddings, showers, reunions and other private parties on any day of the week, and the winery schedules ticketed events such as a painting class in November 2026. Self-contained RV travelers who belong to overnight-parking networks can stay in the front lot on many nights, with no hookups.

The nearest lavender farm in our directory, Crooked Creek Lavender Farms, is listed in the same part of east-central Illinois, so a summer weekend can combine lavender with a Saturday tasting here.
