No questions yet. Ask one and Chappell Hill Lavender Farm can answer it here.
Chappell Hill Lavender Farm sits in the countryside about eight miles north of historic Chappell Hill, just off the Texas Independence Trail, roughly halfway between Austin and Houston. It grows Sweet lavender, which blooms in May and June, and Provence, which blooms from late July through September; Phenomenal was planted between the Provence rows in the lower field in March 2025. Each bloom lasts six to eight weeks, and you can walk the rows and cut your own when stems are ready.
The weather decides a lot here. A January 2026 freeze meant the Sweet field was replanted in April, and heavy rain wiped out most of the Provence, so the farm posts a Blooming Updates page you should read before driving out. Blackberries usually ripen in June, figs later in summer ($5 a pint in 2026), and there are peaches and Asian pears in midsummer.
Admission is free. Since the first weekend of March 2026 the farm has been open Thursday and Friday 10 to 2, Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 11 to 4, and January and February are by appointment. Visitors can feed hay to the miniature goats Fonzie, Oreo and Moonshine, rock on the porch with a lavender lemonade, and picnic by the pond and gazebo. The gift shop, The Lavender Patch, sells lavender lotions and body sprays, a sleep balm, walnut scrub and dried buds. A free Quilt Extravaganza with flower pounding and vendors was held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, and painting classes are held on the outdoor deck.
