About Florence Coffee Co.
Florence Coffee Co. started in 2003 with a single coffee stand in Florence, managed by Rachel, one of the founders. Brothers Nathan and Jeff and their wives Rachel and Alisha still run the family business, which has grown to 23 drive-thru locations in 13 western Montana towns, from Lolo and Stevensville to Whitefish, Helena and Great Falls. The Florence stand sits on US Highway 93 North.
The company now roasts its own coffee at a plant in Butte, carrying on techniques from the longtime supplier who mentored the family. Beans are imported from growers, roasted and delivered weekly. Their website sells bagged blends such as Signature Blend, Miner's Blend and Montana Reserve along with single origins like Sumatra and Costa Rica.
Beyond espresso drinks, the menu features seasonal drinks and a list of energy drink flavor combinations. Posted hours for the shops are 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. Ordering for a group? Drop off their group order form at least two hours ahead, or the day before; orders of six or more drinks carry a 15% service charge.
Big Sky Lavender Farms is only about five minutes north on US 93. The farm's website lists no public visiting hours, so check with them first, but this stand is the natural coffee stop for anyone heading into the Bitterroot Valley.
