About Liquid Planet
Liquid Planet is a Missoula beverage company started by a university professor who, as a student, ran the Java Bus, described as the first espresso business on the University of Montana campus. It roasts organic coffee and sells organic teas, chai and cocoa, and it now runs six spots around town.
The newest is the Grille on Brooks Street, which serves a full breakfast menu all day plus beer and wine, daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Grille on Arthur Avenue is a made-to-order sit-down café for breakfast and lunch, open daily 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free Wi-Fi.
The smaller counters each have their own setting. One sits inside the Book Exchange on Brooks Street, open daily 9 to 5, where you can read with a drink. Another is in the Farmer's State Bank building on North Reserve, open from 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends, with outdoor seating by a fire pit and pastries from a local bakery. There is a weekday counter in the Missoula County Courthouse, and a drive-thru built from a recycled shipping container on Aviation Way near the airport, open Monday to Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Big Sky Lavender Farms near Florence is about 30 minutes south of the Brooks Street grille on US 93. Its website lists no public visiting hours, so check with the farm first; a coffee and breakfast here is a good start to a Bitterroot Valley drive either way.
