About Gárdonyi Levendula

Gárdonyi Levendula is a family lavender garden and craft workshop in Gárdony, the town on the south shore of Lake Velence. The family has welcomed visitors since 2017 and turns its harvest into vegan, palm-oil-free soaps, craft syrups, jams and lavender gifts, some of them sewn from recycled textiles.

When the lavender is in flower, visitors can cut their own. In 2026 the pick-your-own day was June 13. The rest of the year there are no walk-in hours: visits to the workshop are arranged by phone. In summer 2026 the family also held open-studio afternoons with tastings and a small market on Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. for guests who registered ahead.

You can also find them at the Agárd local market (Petőfi u. 1) on Saturday mornings from 8 to noon. Their workshops cover lavender wreath making, mineral jewelry, clay, textile dyeing and seasonal crafts, and the shop doubles as a craft market for other local makers. Their blog shares recipes for lavender syrup and bath salts.

This is a small, hands-on place rather than a big field, so it suits a short stop on a Lake Velence day. Call before you drive out, since every visit outside the pick-your-own day is by appointment.
