About Kooroomba Vineyard & Lavender Farm
Kooroomba is a vineyard and lavender farm at Mount Alford in Queensland's Scenic Rim, with views across to the ranges. It combines lavender rows with a vineyard, a cellar door, a restaurant and a covered terrace, and it is also a busy wedding venue.
Unlike most Australian lavender farms, Kooroomba's lavender is at its fullest in winter: in this part of Queensland it blooms in June, July and August, and some flower heads hang on beyond that. The venue is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays and opens Wednesday to Sunday. Opening hours change around weddings, and on some days the whole property, lavender fields included, closes. In 2026 that includes October 17, 19, 20, 26 and 27 and November 2 to 5 and 7, so check the closed dates on their website before you drive out.
The indoor restaurant serves lunch built on produce from the surrounding regions, and booking well ahead is recommended. On the terrace, walk-in guests can have morning or afternoon tea all day, and dogs are welcome there with their owners. The cellar door pours a tasting of three wines or the full range, no booking needed, with a discount on bottles bought afterward. The small shop sells Kooroomba wine, robes and towels and lavender products from a local Scenic Rim maker; it does not sell online.
If you plan to taste, organize a designated driver; the farm is reached on rural Scenic Rim roads.
