About Lavanderaie des Hautes Baronnies
The Lavanderaie des Hautes Baronnies is a family lavender farm on chemin des Planes in Nossage-et-Bénévent, a small village in the Hautes-Alpes part of the Baronnies hills. The family grows both lavender and lavandin and has a new farm shop on site.
Visits are guided and booked through the local tourist office listings. The one-hour walk takes you through the lavender and lavandin fields, explaining the difference between the types, how harvesting works and the farm's history, and ends with the farm's products in the new shop. While adults take the tour, children can join a free nature activity, supervised by an adult. In 2026 there was a bloom-season walk paired with a lavender-syrup cocktail tasting hosted by a local syrup maker on July 9 (adults from €8, children from €4), and off-bloom walks ran on Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 6 to 20, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., from €3.50. The farm also hosted an evening walk under the stars in early August.
Registration is required for every visit. The organizers advise bringing a hat, water and closed shoes, since the walk is in open fields in summer heat.
The shop sells the farm's own lavender products along with a selection of local goods, and it is the place to ask about the next season's walk dates.
