No questions yet. Ask one and Nannup Lavender Farm can answer it here.
Nannup Lavender Farm is at the corner of Graphite Road and the Vasse Highway, just outside Nannup in Western Australia's South West. The family has grown lavender here since 1999. The field is in full flower in December and January, the height of the Southern Hemisphere summer, and visitors can cut a bunch to take home.
The farm opens Thursday to Sunday, and Thursday to Monday during school holidays. You can book the Lavender Experience, a talk and tasting, and between July and December the private garden opens for escorted tours booked in advance by email, with entry by donation. The café closes for February and March, though the campground stays open.
The café serves tea, coffee, scones, lunches and morning and afternoon teas, including a Devonshire tea with jam and cream, with seasonal specials. In December and January there are lavender treats: ice cream, lavender soda and milkshakes. Seating is mostly outdoors and sheltered, with a little room inside, and groups of more than six should phone ahead. The farm shop has handmade lavender products, preserves and homewares, also sold online and through stockists around the South West and Perth.
To stay, there is a campground with toilets, hot showers, a camp kitchen and a washing machine for tents, camper trailers, vans and caravans under 21 feet (sites are unpowered and must be booked); Millie, a restored 1976 Millard caravan, at $90 a night with a two-night minimum; and a new pet-friendly two-bedroom cottage.
