About Richardson Adventure Farm
Richardson Adventure Farm sits on land Robert Richardson homesteaded after emigrating from England in 1836. The fifth and sixth generations now run it across 544 acres and two farmsteads, and the family has cut a corn maze every year since 2001. They have also grown Christmas trees since 1982 and now tend more than 50,000 of them.
The 2026 maze covers 28 acres of live corn and honors 250 years of the United States. It is split into four smaller mazes with their own entrances, 9 to 10 miles of paths in all, plus three wooden bridges for getting your bearings, a perimeter path and no dead ends. Pick up one of five maze games at the entrance; most take 10 to 20 minutes, the hidden-checkpoint game an hour or more. The season runs September 12 to November 1, 2026, with Maze 'til Midnight Saturdays on September 26 and October 24.
Admission covers the maze, a 50-foot observation tower, the train, wagon ride, carousel, pig races, pedal bikes and slides. The 700-foot zip line costs $17 a rider. U-pick pumpkins, squash and gourds fill the patch in September and October, and the Cornfield Concessions stands sell food. Groups can rent campfire and picnic sites in four-hour blocks from $130. The tree farm opens for cut-your-own the day after Thanksgiving.
Maria's Farm, a lavender farm near Marengo that sees visitors by appointment, is about 20 miles southwest, roughly 35 minutes away.
