About Windy Acres Farm

Windy Acres is a young, family-owned lavender and bee farm at Westbrook on the Darling Downs in Queensland. The family grows several kinds of lavender and keeps bees, and visitors can see the apiary and meet the queens as well as wander the lavender rows.

From October to April the farm and its coffee van open on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and visits at other times can be arranged by appointment. The lavender is in flower through spring and again in early summer. The farm also runs a calendar of events: in 2026 these included a smudge stick workshop with sound healing in January, a group honey harvest in February open to kids aged four and up, an Easter egg hunt among the lavender rows in April, and spring creative classes from late September into early October.

The year's highlight is the In Bloom Picnic Day, set for Sunday, December 13, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with picnics among the flowering lavender, a small market, a sausage sizzle and activities for kids. Picnic spots are limited. The farm sells its own lavender and bee products in its online shop, offers camping on the property, and can be booked for photography sessions.

The farm also hosts free regional workshops on varroa mite preparedness for beekeepers, including one at Westbrook in September 2026.
