Gray Mold on the Drying Wall

Gray mold can spoil part of a drying rack when the air is humid and still. Keep one fan for every two racks in use, or add a dehumidifier, to keep the risk low.

🎮 Play it in the game

Overview

Bundles need moving air. When a rack finishes drying, the game checks the gray mold risk and may spoil a share of its bundles. Spoiled bundles go on the compost, and the message tells you whether more fans or a dehumidifier would have helped.

How the risk is set

HumidityBase risk
Above 75%30% of each rack
Above 60%15%
60% or lower6%

Airflow

Then airflow cuts it down. You need one fan for every two racks in use (at least one). With all the fans you need, the risk drops by 90%: a 30% day becomes 3%. With half the fans, it drops by about 45%.

Reading the Airflow line

  • Low: under 8% of each rack.
  • Medium: 8% to 17%.
  • High: 18% or more.

Tips

  • Fans cost 150 coins each and also speed up drying, so they pay twice.
  • If the line says high on a muggy week, wait to hang your next rack or buy the dehumidifier (900 coins).

Real-world note

Real lavender is dried in small bundles, out of direct light, with good air movement, because damp, still air lets mold grow on the flowers.
