Live Chat

Party chat in Play Together: tap quick messages and emotes for instant chat, or type your own message, which is checked before anyone sees it; a blocked message can be sent to the farm team for review.

🎮 Play it in the game

Overview

When you are in a party, the Play Together panel has a 💬 Chat area. Messages show in the chat log and also pop up in a speech bubble over the player's head on the farm for a few seconds.

There are three ways to talk: quick messages, emotes and typed messages.

Three ways to chat

  • Quick messages: a row of ready-made friendly phrases. Tap one and it is sent at once.
  • Emotes: a row of emoji you can send with one tap, plus 👋 Wave and 🙌 Cheer, which also play an animation on your farmer.
  • Typed messages: type up to 120 characters in the box (“Say something friendly…”) and tap Send. While it is being checked, your line shows “sending…”.

How typed messages are checked

Every typed message is checked by the server before anyone else sees it. Phone numbers, addresses and links are never sent.

If a message is blocked, only you see it in your log, marked Not sent with the reason.

Contesting a blocked message

  1. Find the blocked line in your chat log.
  2. Tap 🙋 Ask for a review.
  3. Optionally tell the farm team what you meant, then confirm.
  4. Your line changes to “🙋 Sent to the farm team for review.”
  5. Later you get a note: either the farm team approved it and it was sent (it shows “✅ approved by the farm team”), or they agreed it can't be sent.

Staying comfortable

  • Tap 🔇 Mute on a player's row to hide their messages. Tap again to unmute.
  • Tap 🚩 Report to report a player to the farm team. You can add a note about what happened.
  • The host can Remove a player from the party.
  • In Classroom mode, class players chat only with quick messages and emotes. Typing is turned off.
