Performance and Display

Overview

The ⚡ Performance & display card makes the game smoother or saves battery. It is saved in this browser only and never changes your farm. The 2D Settings card and the 3D Settings tabs share the same choices, so a change in one shows in the other.

Quick settings

Every choice

• Frame rate: Maximum, 60 or 30 per second. Lower rates keep the fan quieter and the battery going longer. The 3D Graphics tab also offers 144, 120, 90 and 45 when your screen can show them.
• 3D picture (3D detail): Automatic (lowers itself if the farm gets choppy), Ultra, Sharp or Light.
• 3D shadows: Automatic, On or Off.
• Resolution (3D only): Automatic, 50%, 75%, 100% or 150%. Lower is faster; higher is sharper.
• Colors: Natural, Vivid, Soft, Warm or Cool, for the farm pictures and the 3D farm.
• Brightness: Normal, Brighter or Dimmer.
• Frame counter: a small frames-per-second number in the corner. In 3D there is also a stats overlay with frame time, render size, draw calls, triangles and memory.

The 3D Display tab

• Full screen, and on computers with more than one monitor, a choice of which monitor shows the farm.
• Refresh rate: the game can measure your screen's refresh rate. The rate itself is set in your computer's display settings.
• VSync is always on: a web browser always draws in step with the screen.

Speed check

If the game feels slow, tap Run speed check and keep playing. For 30 seconds it times the game's work and any long frames, then shows the slowest parts with a Copy button. It never changes your farm.

Tips

• Phones and tablets do best on Battery saver.
• For menu colors, use Theme at the top of Settings; Colors here only tints the farm pictures.
