Why this pairing works
Honey and mustard balance sweet and tangy, and a tiny pinch of crushed lavender adds a floral lift you'll notice without quite being able to name. Black pepper makes that floral note pop.
Serves 4 to 6 Prep 15 min Cook 0 min
Ingredients
- 3 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Lavender Wildflower Honey
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, plus 1 Tbsp whole grain
- 1/8 tsp Culinary Lavender Buds, very finely crushed
- Lavender Pepper Grinder, to taste
- 2 celery ribs, finely chopped
- 1 cup red grapes, halved
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped, optional
- 4 to 6 large tortillas and lettuce leaves
Directions
- Whisk the mayonnaise, yogurt, honey, mustards, crushed lavender and a few twists of pepper.
- Fold in the chicken, celery, grapes and pecans. Taste and add salt if needed.
- Lay a lettuce leaf on each tortilla, spoon on the chicken salad and roll up tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Cut in half and wrap in parchment. Refrigerate until lunch.
Pack wraps with an ice pack; chicken salad shouldn't sit at room temperature more than 2 hours. The filling keeps 3 days in the fridge. Honey isn't safe for babies under 1 year old.
Serve it with: Lavender Cookie (Lemon Sugar)
Make it your own
- Skip the wrap and serve it on croissants or crackers.
- Swap the grapes for diced apple and dried cranberries.
