Why this pairing works
Chocolate and lavender are a classic European pairing. The floral note keeps rich chocolate from feeling heavy, and vanilla coffee ties the two together.
Serves 2 Prep 5 min Cook 5 min
Ingredients
- 1 cup Lavender Ground Coffee (Vanilla), brewed strong
- 1 serving Lavender Hot Chocolate Mix (Classic), per package directions, made with 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 Tbsp Lavender Sugar
Directions
- Brew the coffee strong, about 2 Tbsp grounds per 6 oz water.
- Make the hot chocolate with hot milk according to the package directions.
- Whip the cream and Lavender Sugar to soft peaks.
- Divide the coffee between 2 mugs, top with the hot chocolate and finish with a cloud of lavender whipped cream.
Whip cream in a chilled bowl. It whips faster and holds its shape longer on a hot drink.
Make it your own
- Make it a peppermint mocha by stirring in a crushed candy cane.
- Kids can skip the coffee and double the hot chocolate.
