About BerryView Orchard
BerryView Orchard is a family-run orchard on Midtown Road northwest of Mount Morris in Ogle County, owned by Jeff and Julie Warren. Alongside apple and pear trees, the Warrens have grown aronia since 2010. Aronia, also called black chokeberry, is a shrub native to North America whose dark purple berries are tart and astringent and are known for their antioxidants. Apples here include Cortland, McIntosh, Ultra Gold, Braeburn, Fuji and Gala, and the orchard also lists some pears, peaches and vegetables.
The 2026 season opened the weekend of August 29–30, with the orchard open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 4 pm. Aronia is harvested in late summer, apples follow into fall, and pumpkins are usually ready by mid-September. Most fall weekends the owners set up pick-your-own, and fruit is also sold already picked.
Apple cider donuts are made fresh on orchard days, and the farm store carries homemade jams, jellies and cookies. The owners say aronia berries freeze well and work like cranberries in smoothies, baking, jam and oatmeal. BerryView is a stop on the free, self-guided Ogle County Farm Stroll run by University of Illinois Extension, held Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm.
All Good Things, by Foster & Family, a lavender grower in Amboy, is about 24 miles south, roughly a 40-minute drive. Confirm its visiting days before you plan the trip.
