About Buttercup Woodlands Campground
Buttercup Woodlands Campground covers 40 acres of woods and open ground in Renfrew, in Butler County north of Pittsburgh. The Domhoff family opened it in April 1977, the Tanski family ran it from 1999 to January 2024, and former manager Jacob Hagofsky took over in 2024. Since then he has renovated the cabins and added a new swimming pool, a bigger playground, and pickleball and cornhole courts.
There are about 300 sites, from shaded tent sites in the woods to RV sites with full hookups and seasonal sites, plus rustic cabins and a camper lodge that sleeps eight. The campground opens in mid-April and closes in mid-October. As posted in 2026, cabins were $80 a night plus tax, RV sites started at $60, tent sites were $40 with a seven-night limit, and the camper lodge was $125 plus tax; golf carts can be rented by drivers 21 and older.
Two restroom and shower buildings, on-site laundry and a stocked camp store cover the basics. Families get the pool, a playground and an indoor game zone, and a daily activity schedule and regular community events are shared through the campground's app. Bookings are made online through their website, and the office answers questions by phone or email.
