About Cathedral Ridge Winery

Cathedral Ridge Winery makes its wines in Hood River from grapes grown at 13 vineyards in the Columbia Gorge, a region where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Cabernet can all ripen within about 40 miles of each other. The winery and tasting room are on Post Canyon Drive in Hood River, and a second tasting room operates in Dundee in the Willamette Valley.

The Hood River room opens daily at 11 am, with business hours posted as 11 am to 5 pm. Tastings are seated: the Classic flight ($20) lets you pick six wines from a list of more than 25, including two reserve wines, and the Reserve flight ($40) adds a library wine. The Barrel Tasting Immersion, offered only in Hood River on Tuesdays through Fridays, runs 90 to 120 minutes and compares barrel samples with earlier vintages for $50. Reservations are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome; groups larger than eight should call ahead.

Outside food is not allowed, but the tasting room sells a limited number of cheese, dried fruit and nut plates. All guests must be 21 or older, so this is a stop for adults only, and dogs must stay in the designated pet area. Fall 2026 events at Hood River include local artists through October and a Halloween weekend wine and candy pairing on October 31 and November 1.

Hood River Lavender Farms, with its Mount Hood views and U-pick rows, is about 15 minutes away in the Hood River Valley, so a summer afternoon can easily include both.
